Here is our resort: the Renaissance La Concha (Marriott). It's very 'fancy' and inside the lobby feels more like a Miami club, full of sleek materials, bikini bodies and full-priced cocktails.
But it was free (we used points to stay), so zero complaints. Plus, as Marriott Platinum members, we were able to access the Conceirge Lounge, which meant free food, hors d'oeuvres, coffee/tea, water, etc - - priceless when at any resort. We ate there everyday. :)
And from our free suite, we had a great view of the ocean. It was so relaxing just to sit and watch the water, and listen.
